People

The success of the Canadian Arctic Expedition depended very much on the men and women who were hired by Stefansson, Anderson and other members of the CAE. This section provides a glimpse into the lives of those who worked for the Expedition. Information is given on their role and achievements while with the CAE, and where possible, on their earlier life and what happened to them after the Expedition.

The people of the CAE are here organized under three main groups: The Northern Party, The Southern Party, and The Karluk. Within these three groups, the people are listed under: Leader, Scientists, Captains and crews, and Local assistants. There is a particular focus on the people of the north who served with the Northern and Southern Parties.
