An Aboriginal Presence

Kenojuak Ashevak

Kenojuak Ashevak was one of the first people to try her hand at drawing when the printmaking program was established in Cape Dorset in 1957. She has been drawing ever since. Over the last 40 years, she has become a world traveller and has been showered with honours, including appointment to the Order of Canada and the Toronto Hall of Fame. The Enchanted Owl was used for a Canada Post stamp and is perhaps her most celebrated image.
